Dangerous When Wet. Ryecroft Foods Ltd (manufacturer of Weetabix and other leading cereal brands) have a set of galvanised metal checker-plate steps as the main entrance to their factory. The grip on the steps was fine in dry weather, but very slippery when wet. They tried self-adhesive grip tape, which worked well for a short time, but needed to be replaced frequently. We grit blasted the surface of the steps, removing any old corrosion, dirt and sticky residue from the grip tape etc then applied one of our special resins together with a high grip coating of stone. Now the steps are completely anti-slip in all weathers.
