| Q. What surface is suitable for the application of resin?
A. Suitable surfaces are: concrete, cementitious screeds, tongue and groove chipboard, marine ply and certain type’s of tiles.
Q. Is your work guaranteed and if so for how
long?
A. All our work is guaranteed. The length of the guarantee depends
upon the operation conditions of the vessel. It could be from 12
months to 10 years.
Q. How thick is the application onto an already applied suitable surface?
A. Our systems range between 1-6mm dry film thickness.
Q. What is the application and drying process?
A. We prepare the surface with diamond grinders and/or industrial sanders, fitted with cyclonic vacuums, to create a mechanical key, apply 1-2 coats of primer followed by the main system. The floor can be used 24 – 48 hours following the final application of resin, depending on the temperature of the area.
Q. What preparation does your company require in advance of applying the resin?
A. We would require the new substrate to be in place prior to our arrival. All other surface preparation is completed by our selves.
Q. Following the application of resin, what is its expected longevity? How would it ever be removed?
A. In an industrial setting, the expected life expectancy of our resin flooring systems ranges from 6 to 20 years plus. To be removed the resin would have to be ground off.
Q. If some disaster requires getting at the floor underneath the resin at some future date, how can the resin be repaired?
A. Either a localized patch repair or if it is a small room it is usually more cost effective to recoat the room.
Q. What is the expected application date following any order?
A. Average lead time is 3-4 weeks following the order.
Q. What is the anticipated cost per Square Meter?
A. This can vary due to a number of factors; colour, thickness, area, substrate condition and distance from our office. We are not trying to be vague; the cost per m2 really does depend on the individual job.
Q. How long does an application take?
A. Depending on the complexity and size of the project, installation can usually take between 1-5 days.
Q. Is the product toxic on application, i.e. when still fluid?
A. The materials we use are normally solvent free epoxy resins so there is very little smell, fumes or risks associated with their application, with normal precautions. All of our quotes come with full risk assessments.
Q. What colours are available?
A. We can install a resin floor in almost any colour. We have a range of standard colours and non-standard colours available for viewing on our Colour Chart Page. If the colour you would like is not on that page we can have a colour specially blended to match as close as practicable any colour sample that you provide. Non-standard and specially blended colours are more expensive than standard colours, but create a more individual floor.
Q. Are you able to remove equipment and floor level items before you start your works?
A. We are not able to remove your equipment and floor level items before our works commence. Any items that we would have to move would not be covered for insurance purposes and we would not be able to reimburse you for any damaged items. You would need to arrange to have theses items removed before our works commence. If not removed before our arrival, we will not be able to start our works and may have to charge you for remobilisation on a new date.
Q. The area I want coated is quite small. What is the smallest area that you will put down your flooring on?
A. We will apply our flooring to any size area. The smallest area we have applied our floor coatings too is 1.5m2. The average domestic floor area is around 40m2, although there have been many domestic project with areas less or greater than this. Please bear in mind that coating very small areas can put the cost per square meter up considerably in relation to larger projects.
